Good question. Of course, applies to * ALL * politically sensitive issue (global warming, evolution, abortion, stem cells, the death penalty, euthanasia, obesity, tobacco and snuff, one nuclear power ... and even if no WMDs in Iraq).
There are two main reasons:
1. Science as a method had an amazing history * ... and is quite convincing. The irony is that the less we know about science, scientists seem to rely on a mysterious priest "without doubt, attacked for no reason.
2. * Has been * added to science as a method of checks and balances to eliminate distortions. (Peer review). A reputation earned as much as impartial. But when people ripped isolated small things out of context to draw conclusions that * not * have been peer reviewed.

Absolutely correct. But then, one wonders if the supporters of the gay rights * to say that genes "definite plan" ... or are they just saying that genes can * give predisposition for a certain sexual orientation. Everything I read seems, to suggest that the second one.
Secondly, the defenders of gay rights not only on the basis of genetic data, but other data indicate that irrespective of the origin, sexual orientation for many people are * very * prepared from early childhood. .. Certainly, in adolescence.
The point of all this is for those of us who identify heterosexual sexual orientation is not a question of "choice" ... force is that a gay person simply "choose" a different sexual orientation is unfair and unrealistic to ask us heterosexuals "choose" to be gay. I am a scientist, and through extensive research, I concluded that homosexuality is indeed genetic. I have families who are homosexual in their genetic line going back 100 years seen, and I've seen families who are homosexual zero in their genetic history. My own family is a "zero homosexuals in our genetic history.
I am sure many will dismiss this dispute, my research as a waste, but I try not to an agenda for every push, and do not care if people believe me or not.
I know what I have seen and documented, and I believe my results, that is all I care. Although still not able to specific genetic markers that predispose a person to isolate a homosexual, a day that me or someone else and that's not sitting well with many people.
Those who still insist that homosexuality is a lifestyle implode choice and not genetically determined, their brain is.

Why do people resort to use to keep their political agenda? Why do people use religion to promote their political agenda? For some people, the power is so important that nothing else matters. The best way to control people and the money is to demonize something or give the impression that you like them, and they must organize themselves, to protect "the group that does not like you. Science has been misused to justify that purpose. Look at the Nazis.
You are correct. However, we live in this politically correct culture, that is, you can still be wrong and right. Another thing that people see and hear, go out what in the media, film and television, science rather bad, and it, is that correct. Why not test the update is beyond me. Why do they want to remain ignorant, I do not understand. Why do people think they know everything there is to know about homosexuality and human behavior, a mystery to me.
